Kendrick Aung, Mechanical Engineer at Lamar University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering education.
Dr. Aung enjoys teaching engineering and science to students, as it is his life’s passion. Interested at an early age in engineering, Dr. Aung chose it as his career path. He attended YTU and earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1983. He continued his education at the AIT, Asian Institute of Technology, and received a master’s degree in engineering from there in 1991. After this accomplishment, Dr. Aung came to the United States where he earned a PhD from the University of Michigan in 1996.
While Dr. Aung was at YTU, he began teaching. While studying at the University of Michigan, Dr. Aung became a research assistant. In 1996, Dr. Aung became a research fellow at the University of Georgia. Following this success was a position at the University of California as a research assistant professor. In 2011, he began teaching at Lamar University. Lamar University has recognized him with a distinguished faculty in fellowship for teaching award. Dr. Aung maintains affiliation with a variety of organizations that have allowed him to stay connected in his career. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society for Engineering Education, the AIAA and the Combustion Society. Additionally, Dr. Aung is a Lamar University Representative for the Texas Grant Consortium.
