John M. Rovison, Jr., Chemical Engineer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Science.
Mr. Rovison is an experienced engineer who has been in the field for over 35 years, and has conducted successful research in process and occupational safety, manufacturing technology, industrial applications, as well as food processing sanitization and sterilization. He has worked on process management and development with PeroxyChem as vice president since the inception of the firm in 2014. In his early career, he was an associate process engineer for the Ag chemical group at FMC Corporation. While at FMC, Mr. Rovison held the title of senior process engineer and managed production, maintenance, technology, and commercial technology, with the latest position as technology director of the FMC Global Peroxygens Division.
An alumnus of Washington University in St. Louis, Mr. Rovison earned a BSChemE and a BA in biology in 1982, and went on to a MS in cancer biology at Niagara University. Mr. Rovison worked with the new products evaluation board of the McGraw-Hill Chemical Engineering Magazine in the mid-‘80s. He has taught physics briefly with the North Tonawanda High School. Today, Mr. Rovison is involved with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society, and a former member of the National Fire Protection association.
A notable point in Mr. Rovison’s career was his role as principal author of “FMC Corporate Ammonia Storage and Handling Standards”, as well as a number of innovations in chemical engineering. He re-designed a Brazilian insecticide formulating plant to remediate dust explosion hazards, and engineered numerous delivery systems and designs for chemical products in a wide range of industries. He was also a member and active participant in the Resolve through Sharing Parents Group, and is currently a member of the Manufacturers Council of the Buffalo-Niagara Partnership. Mr. Rovison is also proud of serving as a mentor for other young technical professionals in the PeroxyChem company.
