Frank Clemente, Chief Geotechnology Engineer at AECOM, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil and structural engineering.

With more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Clemente has served as chief geotechnology engineer with AECOM since 2002. Prior to obtaining his current position, he worked as the chief geotechnology engineer for TAMS Consultants, Inc. from 1988 to 2002, and as a professional associate at Parsons Brinckerhoff from 1967 to 1984. In addition to his primary roles, Dr. Clemente has managed projects to align with the New York City Building Code and taught in academia as a fellow and lecturer at such institutions as Tulane University, the University of Hawaii, and Cooper Union.

Developing an interest in the field at an early age, Dr. Clemente attended Cooper Union to earn a Bachelor of Engineering in 1966. He continued his studies at New York University, receiving a Master of Civil Engineering in 1967. In 1984, he acquired a PhD from Tulane University, and he holds certifications in civil engineering from the state of Louisiana, in structural engineering from the state of Hawaii, and in professional engineering from the state of New York. Throughout his career, he has contributed to numerous articles and professional journals.

A respected leader in the industry, Dr. Clemente has been recognized on numerous occasions for his achievements. In 2007, he was presented with the Silver Award and the President’s Award from Earth Tech, and he was named Outstanding Technology Chairman with the American Society of Civil Engineers in the 1970s. He was president of the Hawaii chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1980 and he has maintained professional affiliation with the American Society of Engineering Education, the Deep Foundations Institute, and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.
