A celebrated figure in the realm of engineering, Dr. Atlamazoglou has more than 25 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise. An electrical engineer with the Infrastructure and Environmental Protection Directorate with the Hellenic Army General Staff since 2002, he simultaneously serves as a researcher with ICCS and professor of cryptography with the Communications and Electronics School for Officers of the Signal Corps of the Hellenic Army. Commencing his career as an assistant in the Laboratory of Microwave and Optical Fibers at ICCS in 1992, he has also acted as a systems manager at the Athens High Performance Computing Laboratory, researcher with the Hellenic Army Research and Technology Center, and professor at the Technical Educational Institute of Athens.
Alongside his professional endeavors, Dr. Atlamazoglou has engaged in a number of civic appointments, including as a participant and virtual reality expert member with the Research and Technology Directorate of Greece from 1999 to 2001 and member of Committee 60 and the Senior Staff Selection Board with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport, and Networks in 1999. To prepare for his illustrious career, he sought a formal education, earning a diploma in 1991 and a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering in 1997 from the National Technical University of Athens. He subsequently served his country in the Logistics Corps of the Hellenic Army General Staff from 1997 to 1999.
Dr. Atlamazoglou has been a prolific writer, contributing chapters to books, articles to professional journals, and papers to various publications within his fields of interest. He was the author of the book “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, A Novel,” published in 2012. A member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, he has further been honored with several accolades throughout his career. Highlighted in the 25th and 26th editions of Who’s Who in the World, he was named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who’s Who in 2017. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, hiking, meditating, programming, drawing, traveling, and volunteering.
