Alexander A. Anderson, Cofounder at Odin Energy Works LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in systems engineering.
The co-founder of Odin Energy Works LLC, a research and development firm that provides education solutions in renewable energy and sustainable development for underprivileged communities, Mr. Anderson began attending college at the age of 12, earning an Associate of Science in mechanical and aerospace pre-engineering from Green River College in 2012. In 2014, he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Saint Martin’s University, and soon thereafter, he obtained a Master of Science in power systems engineering from Washington State University in 2015. Currently, Mr. Anderson is in the process of obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in systems engineering, which he expects to receive from Colorado State University in 2018.
Mr. Anderson is most proud of seeing his designs spring to life in the remote villages of Papua New Guinea, where 90 percent of society go without electricity and suffer from the highest infant mortality rate in the Pacific. In 2013, Mr. Anderson joined a project and designed a community rainwater system that provided three villages a clean source of water. His project subsequently joined forces with the IEEE Smart Village, and together, they have been working to provide electricity, communications, and digital education to the Madan community. He has been chair of partner engagement with the IEEE Smart Village since 2017.
In recognition of his exceptional achievements, Mr. Anderson was named a Boeing National Merit Scholar and a Distinguished Alumni by Washington State University in 2016. He has been a longtime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 2011.
