Dean V. Neubauer, Engineering Fellow, Chief Statistician and Data Analytics Leader at Corning Incorporated, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in data analytics.
Mr. Neubauer’s latest position augments more than three decades of experience in the statistics and data analytics field. In 2018, he accepted the role of data analytics leader at Corning Incorporated, a company which he has worked at in various capacities since 1986. He began at the company as a senior statistical engineer II and went on to fulfill the roles of senior project engineer, engineering associate, and senior engineering associate. Since 2011, he has also been an engineering fellow with the company. In addition to working with Corning Incorporated, Mr. Neubauer worked as a mathematical statistician with the United States Census Bureau and was a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. He was an adjunct professor in graduate studies for the John R. Hromi Center for Quality & Applied Statistics at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Mr. Neubauer started out as a physics major but realized positions in the industry after graduation were fading out with there now being some years passed since the moon landing. His attention was redirected to mathematics, specifically to statistics. He found he enjoyed the field, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in it from Iowa State University of Science and Technology in 1981. He later earned a Master of Science in applied and mathematical statistics from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1988. He is a certified quality engineer, professional accredited statistician and chartered statistician. He combines research in applications of statistical mixture designs to exploring and discovering new glass and ceramic compositions and exacting critical factors for simplified analysis of means. Furthermore, he holds 16 patents for liquid crystal display glass, millboard and refractory isopipe compositions, systems and methods to evaluate millboard and pulling troll design and roll materials.
