Paul Smith, Semi-retired Electrical Engineer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of engineering.

An esteemed engineer, Mr. Smith has accomplished much during the course of his career. He specializes in electrical engineering management in various facets, from technical management to overall company management. He has held numerous positions over the course of his career, including president for the Norcom Electronics Corporation in Trumbull, CT, from 1998 to 1999 and president of NBS Card Technology Corporation in Paramus, NJ, from 1992 to 1997. He has been the senior vice president and chief technology officer for Summagraphics in Seymour, CT, from 1984 to 1992, the vice president of product development for ITT Courier in Tempe, AZ, from 1978 to 1984 as well as president and owner of Cape Cod Electronics in Chatham, MA, from 1976 to 1978. Mr. Smith has also served as the regional manager of the PERTEC Peripheral Equipment Company in Chatsworth, CA, from 1969 to 1978 and staff member for the Lincoln Laboratory Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1961 to 1969. In addition to these roles, Mr. Smith works as a consulting real estate agent on Hilton Head Island.

Preparing for his impressive career, Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1959 as well as a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1961. He typically approaches situations with a logical perspective, solving interesting problems in both the technical and management areas. Not one to be easily discouraged, Mr. Smith is an ethical, competent man who has been motivated by a desire to keep learning and advancing within his field. He has contributed articles to professional journals and developed a new business proposal supporting a lower-cost technology approach for companies. Appreciating how much he has achieved in his life, Mr. Smith considers his mentors to be individuals in management positions who guided him to success. He holds membership with several esteemed organizations, including The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Sigma Xi, Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Pi Mu Epsilon and Sigma Tau.  In addition to his work, he enjoys time with his wife Martha Anne MacDonald and their children Kara, Samantha and Todd. He also appreciates his grandchildren, Sydney, Ellie and Audrey. Mr. Smith has been recognized for his success in multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in the East.
