Conrado Sibayan Casem, Structural Engineering Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in structural engineering.
Growing up in the Philippines, Mr. Casem excelled in mathematics in high school. Having been sponsored by relatives who wished to see him succeed, he subsequently attended FEATI University, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1967. Due to his academic success, he was offered a scholarship to complete a master’s program overseas in Thailand. As such, he attended the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand, graduating with a Master of Engineering with a major in structural engineering and mechanics in 1970. For the following three years, he worked as a civil engineer for the Philippine Engineering and Construction Corporation, followed by another two years as a structural engineer for the Morrison Knudsen International Company and three years as a design engineer at Monenco Ltd., both in Singapore.
Traveling overseas, Mr. Casem immigrated to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he served as a senior engineer at the Montreal Engineering Company for five years. After this unique opportunity, he traveled to Glen Cove, NY, where he acted in the same role for Flour City Architectural Metals for three years. He remained with the company for the following 12 years, in the position as the chief engineer until 1999. Thereafter, he served as the head structural engineer for Permasteelisa North America in Miami, FL, from 1999 to 2010, when he moved on to his current role as a structural engineering consultant.
A lifetime member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Mr. Casem has completed structural engineering services to the exterior wall systems of buildings such as Terminals 1 and 5 at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, IL, Key Tower in Cleveland, OH, the U.S. Bank Tower in Los Angeles, CA, and the Time Warner Center in New York City.
As a testament to his professional success, Mr. Casem has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. Married with one son, he enjoys golf, tennis, and bowling in his spare time. Looking toward the future, he intends to fully retire while looking back fondly upon the memories of his respected career.
