Myron I. Kuhlman, Ph.D., Principal Owner at MK Tech Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in chemical engineering.
Dr. Kuhlman commenced his career as an engineer with E.I. du Pont and Company in 1972, holding the role in various cities for seven years. Thereafter, he served in the same capacity with Shell Development Company in Houston, TX, from 1979 to 1993. Subsequent to acting as a vice president of technical development with Tuboscope Vetco International Environmental Services, Inc., in Houston for the following four years, he has been serving MK Tech Solutions in Houston as principal owner since 1997.
Contributing over 30 articles to professional journals, Dr. Kuhlman is a patentee in the field. Among his notable achievements, he is most renowned for his research in soil-resistant carpet fibers, low-temperature explosives, feedstocks from millisecond coal pyrolysis, and microscope systems for the study of petroleum fluids, foams and wettability at reservoir conditions. In addition, he is responsible for the modeling of oil field and chemical processes, including light-oil-air injection, rich air use for recovery of light, heavy oil, steam injections, miscible CO2 flooding, and gas hydrate production. Furthermore, he was credited with the design of surface active chemicals, environmental remediation equipment in situ thermal and chemical remediation projects, and premier modeling of enhanced oil recovery or remediation projects. Notably, he was also responsible for several billion barrels of probable oil reserves in over 100 oil reservoirs on five continents.
Dr. Kuhlman holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois. Maintaining affiliation with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, he formerly served as the supervisor for the committee of institute applied surface research at the University of Oklahoma, the research revised committee of surface science with the Illinois Institute of Technology, and Texas A&M University.
In light of his myriad accomplishments, Dr. Kuhlman was highlighted in the fourth and eighth editions of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, as well as the 35th and 36th editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business. Married with two children and two grandchildren, he was a National Science Foundation fellow from 1970 to 1972. However, he cites the highlight of his career to be witnessing his family grow and achieve their goals.
