Dr. David I Ma, PhD, Senior Electronics Engineer at KeyW Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in physics and engineering.

Dr. Ma became involved in physics and engineering because of his father, who was a Penn State graduate and nuclear engineer. Dr. Ma commenced his academic pursuits at Tung Hai University, whereupon he earned a Bachelor of Science in physics in 1975. Upon receiving a grant to study in the United States, Dr. Ma obtained a Master of Science in physics and a PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Maryland in 1981 and 1991, respectively. In addition to his career in engineering, he is a financial advisor and is licensed in Series 7 and in Series 66.

Since 2016, Dr. Ma has provided his expertise and experience as a senior electronics engineer for KeyW Corporation, a private company focused on national security via cyber and intelligence threats. In addition to working in this position, he has served as a financial advisor with Acacia Financial Advisors, LLC since 2004. Prior to his work with KeyW, he held similar roles with SFA Incorporated, the Naval Research Laboratory and Sachs/Freeman Association. Earlier in his career, Dr. Ma worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Maryland. Prior to relocating to the United States, Dr. Ma served as a 2nd Lieutenant and Reserved Political Warfare Officer with the Army Special Force of Taiwan. In his career, he has contributed to numerous articles and professional journals.

Dr. Ma’s achievements in the field include radiation testing on various new 12” wafers for hardening evaluation and nanotube fabrication and evaluation. He is the patent holder for planar detector-amplifier arrays and detector-amplifier circuit channels with an insulating layer between the detector and transistor layers. Supplementing his work, Dr. Ma has maintained professional affiliation with a variety of organizations, including the Christian Oratorio Society, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Tau Phi. Furthermore, he has been a member of the HuaXia Chorus. Looking toward the future, Dr. Ma hopes to be able to look back and know that he has provided a good life for his family.
