Sachin Mathakari, Professional Engineer at TechnipFMC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering, digitalization and business analytics.
Mr. Mathakari went into engineering because his father and an uncle were engineers. He would go out in the field with them and look at dams, whereupon civil engineering became a draw for him. He pursued the field of engineering academically, earning a Master of Engineering in structural engineering from the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai, India in 2004. Upon relocation to the United States, he received a Master of Civil Engineering in structural engineering from Texas A&M University in 2007. Mr. Mathakari posits his success to his family; acknowledging the inspiration from his father and uncle, as well as the overwhelming support and motivation from his wife.
Since 2018, Mr. Mathakari has served as an installation analysis manager and principal engineer for TechnipFMC, a UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle service for the energy industry. He has also worked as a senior engineer and senior installation engineer with the company. Prior to joining TechnipFMC, he worked as a structural engineer for Helix from 2011 to 2012, as an installation engineer for Global Industries from 2010 to 2011, as a senior staff engineer for MMI Engineering from 2006 to 2010 and as an engineer for KPFF Consulting Engineers in 2006.
In the next five years, Mr. Mathakari wants to update the oil industry, which he feels is lagging behind many other areas of industry. He endeavors to be at the forefront of industry-wide changes especially concerning the digitalization of the field. Thus far, he considers his greatest achievement to be a part of a company used by mobile industries where he conducted numerous studies. These studies ended up saving the company a lot of money as it was able to access which projects the company could undertake. Mr. Mathakari has also had some of his work from his days matriculating at Texas A&M published and is continuing to work on authoring additional papers.
