Robert Glodowski, Metallurgical Engineer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Inspired by his grandfather, who was a homesteader and blacksmith, Mr. Glodowski was able to merge his interest in engineering with the metalwork he witnessed from his grandfather. He earned a BSMetE from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1967 and landed a position with Armco, Inc. that same year. Mr. Glodowski remained at the company as a metallurgist and manager until 1986, where he was then promoted to principal metallurgist. In 1997, he became the director of technical services at the Strategic Minerals Corp. Since 2015, Mr. Glodowski has provided his services and expertise in the field as the owner of his firm, RJG Metallurgical LLC.
There are many career highlights that stand out for Mr. Glodowski, including developing and implementing the “Melt to Tensile” production method for high carbon wire rod and being instrumental in commercializing the Vanadium-Nitrogen precipitation strengthening microalloying system. Furthermore, he holds two US patents and authored more than 100 technical articles in his field. However, his favorite career achievements remain receiving the Mordica Memorial Award, the only of its kind, and receiving a Distinguished Alumni award from his high school in 2017. He has also maintained professional affiliation with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society for Testing and Materials and the Wire Association.
