David Arthur Lienhart, Geologist, Consultant, and Laboratory Director at DAL Engineering Geologic & Petrographic Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineering for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geology.

Interested in rocks, fossils, and minerals since childhood, Mr. Lienhart pursued his passion professionally by matriculating at the University of Cincinnati where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in nuclear radiology in 1961 and a Master of Science in 1964. He then attended the U.S. Army Chemical School in Fort McClellan, Alabama, in 1969 and studied advanced rock mechanics engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1978. He is a certified professional geologist in the state of Indiana, Delaware, and North Carolina, and assumed employment with the Ohio River Division Laboratory in Cincinnati in 1964. He has contributed articles to professional journals, has been the author and editor of technical publications, and contributed to the design of a rock mechanics direct shear device for rock sold to an engineering firm in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Lienhart fondly recalls being named as the Greater Cincinnati Federal Employee of the Year in the scientific category for his work on the hydrology of the Fernald Superfund Site in Western Hamilton County, Ohio, for the Department of Justice. Currently, Mr. Lienhart serves as a consultant for construction rock properties and evaluation of rock for erosion control and is glad to share his knowledge with others.
