Location: Meriden, Connecticut, United States
Linda Colaresi, Senior Industrial Engineer (Retired), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in industrial engineering.
Ms. Colaresi has always followed her convictions. While making the decision to drop out of college is no simple task, doing so lead her to her eventual career in engineering. Upon making this decision, she worked in a hospital and did not enjoy the work. She then joined the company Stanley Works doing clerical tasks until she followed her interest in the work the company was doing. She was trained and stayed with the company for 11 years before becoming an industrial engineer with Philips Medical Systems in 1977. Throughout the next two decades, she extended her skills and abilities to Gould Inc., Colt’s Manufacturing Co. and the U.S. Repeating Arms Co. She worked at Kama and GE Corp before returning and finishing out her career as a senior industrial engineer at Colt’s Manufacturing Co. Ms. Colaresi retired in 2011.
The highlight of Ms. Colaresi’s career was being able to come up with many cost reductions for the company. Her achievements include serving as the chairperson of the ergonomics committees, the safety committee and the injury review board. She is also proud of her work with instructing engineers on methods and time study, setup reductions, getting the company certified on ISO9001-2000 through the development of procedures and producing detailed operation instruction sheets. Ms. Colaresi earned a Bachelor of Science in technology from Central Connecticut State University.
