Brad Bittenbender, Safety Engineer at Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in environmental safety.
Mr. Bittenbender started on his journey towards his career by earning a BS from Western Michigan University in 1972. He then earned a certificate in hazardous material management from the University of California Irvine in 1987 and a certificate in environmental auditing from the California State University Long Beach in 1992. He is also a national board-certified safety professional of the Americas and a national board certified hazardous materials manager. He is a U.S. Department of Labor OSHA authorized outreach trainer and a licensed hoist engineer for the Massachusetts State Department of Public Safety.
In 1977, Mr. Bittenbender started his professional career as a supervisor of manufacturing at the Productol Chemical Division Ferro Corp., where he stayed until 1991, serving as an environmental administrator, senior environmental engineer, and manager of the environmental safety and health department. From there, he became the manager of the environmental safety and industrial hygiene department at Structural Polymer Sysytems Inc. from 1991 to 1995. He then moved on to become the director of environmental safety and health department at Culver City Composites Corp. for two years. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Bittenbender held the position of manager of the safety, health and environmental department at Cytec Fiberite-California Division before moving on to become a senior safety specialist at Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in 2000. He still holds this position to this day.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Bittenbender has received the U.S. Department of Labor OSHA Region-1 Special Government Employee of the Year in 2018. He has been inducted as a member into numerous organizations including, People to People International, American Society of Safety Professionals, Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals, Engineers without Borders USA, Society of Fire Protection Engineers and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, among others. Furthermore, Mr. Bittenbender has been included in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
