Sun Wong, Independent Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.

A graduate of the University of Hawaii, Mr. Wong earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with honors in 1954. Consequently, he secured a Master of Science in civil engineering from Yale University in 1955, further beginning his career as an engineer for North American Aviation in Downey, California. After three years, he left the company and joined Ramo Woolridge Space Technical Laboratories in Redondo Beach, California, as a member of the technical staff until 1964. Subsequently, he helped form Mechanics Research Incorporated in El Segundo, California, where he held the posts a Treasurer, Technical Director, and an Executive Vice President from 1964 to 1977.

As he progressed through his profession, Mr. Wong served as a Treasurer for System Development Corporation in Santa Monica, California, for two years, left and became the President and Treasurer of Applied Research Incorporated in El Segundo, California, between 1979 and 1981. For the remainder of his career, Mr. Wong worked as an independent consultant in Rolling Hills Estates until his retirement in 2014. Active in other career-related endeavors, he also contributed as a consultant for a number of organizations including TriSept, Washington DC; Boeing Space and Intelligence, Seal Beach, California; Raytheon, El Segundo, California; Boeing Space Systems, El Segundo, California; Hughes Space and Communications, El Segundo, California; Kodak Datatape, Pasadena, California; E Systems, Garland, Texas; TRW, Redondo Beach, California; Tompkins and Associates, Torrance, California; Measurement Analysis Corporation, Torrance, California; and many others.

For his numerous success throughout his career, Mr. Wong has been the recipient of several accolades. Some of which include the Technical Excellence Award from the Boeing Company, the Seal Medal by the Central Intelligence Agency, the Pioneer Award from the National Reconnaissance Office. An exceptional Marquis listee, he has been featured in editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World. Likewise, Mr. Wong was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Wong would like to be remembered by his peers as someone who was praised for his work with the United States government and the consulting he did with others such as Boeing, TRW, Hughes, E Sytems, Raytheon, and etc. Enjoying his retirement, he often does machine shop work in his garage.
