Sean Adkins, Principal Engineer at Wave2 Enterprises, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in electrical engineering.
Mr. Adkins prepared for his career at the University of Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in computer science and electrical engineering in 1978. He embarked on his professional journey, garnering experience as a chief engineer at Bash Theatrical Lighting from 1978 to 1982, and worked as a chief engineer for Dilor Industries Ltd., where he excelled for five years. After a brief tenure as a hardware engineer at MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates, Mr. Adkins started as the president of Pthalo Systems Incorporated, a post he held for more than a decade. Upon his departure, he transitioned to the IMAX Corporation, serving as the vice president of advanced technology for three years, before accepting a position at the W. M Keck Observatory.
Knowing the value of continuing his academic pursuits, Mr. Adkins earned an MBA in technology management in 2010. After serving as an instrument program manager at the observatory for more than a decade, he leveraged his experience and knowledge and started in his current post at Wave2 Enterprises, where he continues to work as a principal engineer. Throughout his career, Mr. Adkins’ achievements include the development of high-speed, high-resolution motion picture imaging systems using electro-optics for film scanning and recording, as well as the development of advanced detectors for adaptive optics, wavefront sensing. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Society of Motion Picture and TV Engineers and the International Society for Optical Engineering, among others. As a testament to his success and stature, Mr. Adkins has been featured in the fourth edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and the 64th edition of Who’s Who in America.
