Herbert Kobayashi, Electrical Engineer and President of Kobayashi Incorporated, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in aerospace and electrical engineering.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Kobayashi attended the University of Houston, earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1951, and continued his academic pursuits at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a Master of Science in electrical engineering in 1958 and later a Master of Science in industrial engineering in 1969. Mr. Kobayashi began his career pursuits as the president of Kobayashi Incorporated in 1960, and simultaneously started as a design engineer at Structural Integrity Engineering in Houston, Texas. He transitioned to The Boeing Company, serving as a design engineer from 1961 to 1962, and subsequently worked for Lockheed Electronics in Houston. In 1963, he accepted a position as an aerospace technologist at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, a post he held for 39 years. Currently, he acts as the president of Kobayashi Inc. in Webster, Texas.
In addition to his primary professional pursuits, Mr. Kobayashi served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, when he received an honorable discharge. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Houston Inventors Association. He holds numerous patents, including eight government patents, and his achievements as an engineer include the development of a technique to produce stronger concrete slabs, pulse width modulation for servo loop efficiency and the invention of a digital motor control system and method. As a testament to his success and stature, Mr. Kobayashi has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in the World.
