Eugene Hester, Manager of Maintenance Operations at Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in industrial engineering.
As a licensed professional engineer and a certified safety professional, Mr. Hester boasts more than 60 years of professional experience to his credit. In preparation for his career, he attended Lees McRae College, receiving an Associate of Arts in 1952. He continued his academic pursuits at North Carolina State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 1955. Following his graduation, Mr. Hester launched his career as an industrial engineer for the Aluminum Company of America in Tennessee, where he worked from 1955 to 1960. He garnered further experience for several years as a senior planning engineer at AT&T and a chief reliability engineer at Teledyne Brown Engineering.
In 1965, Mr. Hester accepted a position as a chief reliability engineer in the space support division of Sperry Rand, now a part of Unisys, and in 1969 he transitioned to Illinois Tools Works, where he worked as an industrial engineering manager until 1977. From 1977 to 1988, he leveraged his expertise as a chief maintenance engineer at DeLeuw, Cather & Company, now a part of the Parsons Corporation. Since his departure from the company, Mr. Hester has held the post of a manager of maintenance operations at Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services—formerly E-Systems—in Dallas, Texas.
In conjunction with his primary professional pursuits, Mr. Hester served as a consultant to the Washington Area Transit Authority from 1977 to 1985 and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit District from 1985 to 1988. He acted as a building maintenance superintendent for the Northway Baptist Church from 1992 to 1997. Furthermore, Mr. Hester maintains affiliation with numerous professional organizations including the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the International Maintenance Institute. As a testament to his success and experience, Mr. Hester has been selected for inclusion in the 22nd and 23rd editions of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.
