Robert Rounsley, PhD, Retired Chemical Engineer and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in chemical engineering.
With a career spanning more than 45 years of professional experience, Dr. Rounsley has been retired since 1996, having been a research fellow with the Mead Corporation since 1957, also serving as an instructor at Iowa State University from 1954 to 1957. Prior to obtaining this position, he was an instructor with Iowa State University from 1954 to 1957. Earlier in his career, he was an associate with Argonne National Laboratory from 1953 to 1954.
Dr. Rounsley first pursued an education with Michigan Technological University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1952. He continued his studies with the school, completing a Master of Science in chemical engineering in 1954. He then joined Iowa State University, earning a PhD in chemical engineering in 1957. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Dr. Rounsley has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, and the American Chemical Society. He has also been active with the Society for Computer Simulation, the Institute of Paper Science and Technology, and the Lions. In addition to being a patentee in the field, he has written 10 articles in professional journals and 12 papers on heat transfer.
