David Kercher, Retired Mechanical Engineer at General Electric, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mechanical engineering.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Kercher held a number of positions with General Electric prior to his retirement in 2002. He was a principal engineer with GE Aircraft Engines from 1989 to 2001, where he was previously a senior engineer from 1985 to 1989, a subsection manager of the aircraft engine group from 1983 to 1984, and a senior engineer in 1982. From 1972 to 1981, he was a unit manager of the gas turbine department and a senior engineer from 1966 to 1971. Earlier in his career, he was an engineer with the large jet engine division from 1968 to 1971, an engineer from 1958 to 1971, and an engineer with Gatling gun production from 1959 to 1960.
Mr. Kercher began his career with the United States Air Force, serving from 1951 to 1954, and he continued his service with the United States Air Force Reserve from 1955 to 1958. He then pursued an education with Purdue University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1958. He continued his studies with the University of Cincinnati, earning a Master of Science in aerospace engineering in 1967.
