Stanley Nusim, PhD, President of S.H. Nusim and Associates, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in manufacturing.
With more than 60 years of professional experience, Dr. Nusim has been the president of S.H. Nusim and Associates, Inc., since 1994, also serving as the vice president of manufacturing and operations with Therics, Inc., from 1994 to 1997. Prior to obtaining these roles, he held a number of positions with Merck and Company, Inc., including as the executive director of licensee operations worldwide for the manufacturing division from 1992 to 1994, executive director and licensee for Latin America, Far East, and Asia operations from 1982 to 1992, and director of subsidiary projects for the international division from 1981 to 1982.
From 1973 to 1980, Dr. Nusim was a manufacturing manager with the chemical manufacturing division of Merck and Company, Inc., after working as a technology services manager since 1970. He was previously a section manager with the research laboratories division from 1968 to 1970, where he was previously a researcher from 1957 to 1968. Earlier in his career, he was a research engineer with Battelle Memorial Institute in 1956.
Dr. Nusim first pursued an education with the City College of New York, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1957. He then joined New York University, completing a Master of Science in chemical engineering in 1960. He continued his studies with the school, earning a PhD in 1967. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society, and Tau Beta Pi.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Dr. Nusim has been an active member of his community. The author of “Kinetic Studies on C4 Hydrocarbon Systems,” he was the editor of “Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients: Development, Manufacturing, and Regulation, 2nd edition.” He holds patents in the United States and other countries on the continuous manufacture of halogenated acetone, the development of clean room concepts for API manufacturing, and the development of advanced training techniques for sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing. For his contributions to the industry, he has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
