Roger Wells, Retired Software Engineer at The Boeing Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in software engineering.
For more than four decades, Mr. Wells led a long and successful career in the field of software engineering. Prior to his retirement in 2016, he worked as a computer process specialist for Boeing and further becoming a data and system analyst. He was also a volunteer disaster responder for the company. Between 1979 and 2005, he contributed as a software evaluation engineer for Tektronix, Inc., a computer engineer for Saudi Arabian Oil Co., a software engineer for Conrac, Inc., software analyst for Lundy Financial Systems, senior project engineer for Illuminet, a technical advisor for the Washington Service Corps, and a software builder for Volt.
In preparation for his illustrious career, Mr. Wells earned a Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College in 1971. He further completed postgraduate coursework at The University of Texas at Austin and concluded his academic efforts with a Bachelor of Science at Oregon State University in 1977. To remain knowledgeable of trends in the field, he maintains affiliation with numerous professional organizations including the American Philatelic Society, the American Institute of Parliamentarians, the Boeing Leadership Network Retirees, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, among others.
As a testament to his professional efforts, Mr. Wells was the recipient of the grand prize for the R. L. Fanthorpe Write-Alike Contest in 2006. Other achievements to his credit include designing a software program to transfer billing records for regional telephone companies. An exceptional Marquis listee, Mr. Wells has been included in Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the Media and Communication, Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who in the World.
