Tom Tsai, PhD, Retired Lead Process Engineering Manager with the Dow Chemical Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Chemical Engineering.
With 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Tsai was a lead process engineering manager and reaction engineering technology expert with the Dow Chemical Company from 1995 to 2015, having been a process engineering associate since 1988. Prior to obtaining these roles, he was a consultant engineer and the founder of TDS Associates from 1983 to 1988 and a senior engineer with the Bechtel Corporation from 1980 to 1983. Earlier in his career, he was a senior process engineer with CE-Lummus Company (now ALSTOM) from 1975 to 1980.
Dr. Tsai first pursued an education with National Taiwan University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1970. He then joined the Republic of China Army, serving to the rank of second lieutenant from 1970 to 1971. He then relocated to the United States, completing a Master of Science in chemical engineering with Purdue University in 1973. He continued his studies with the school, earning a PhD in chemical engineering in 1975. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
