Simon A. Ginzberg, PhD, Retired Electrical Engineer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in electrical engineering.
With more than 40 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Ginzburg is currently retired, having worked as a lead engineer for the MITRE Corp. in Bedford, Massachusetts from 1997 to 2009. Previously, he was a senior member of the technical staff at Racal-Datacom, Inc. in Boxborough, Massachusetts for five years. From 1985 to 1992, Dr. Ginzburg acted as a principal engineer with the Digital Equipment Corp. and from 1980 to 1985, he held the post of a principal engineer with Wang Laboratories. He commenced his career with the Central Research Institute of Communications in Moscow, Russia, where he held various positions for more than one decade.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Ginzburg attended the Institute of Electronics, Radio-Engineering and Informatics in Moscow, Russia, where he received a Master of Science in 1961. He continued his academic pursuits at this institution, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in 1969. In addition to his primary professional pursuits, Dr. Ginzburg has found success through his written works. He has authored multiple books, including “Lightwave Transmission Systems,” “Statistical Communication, Second Edition,” “Statistical Communication” and “Waveguides with Discrete Correction.” He considers one of his greatest career accomplishments to be defending his PhD dissertation, as it gave him an opportunity to establish himself as a respected individual in his field. Additionally, he edited “Waveguides for Communications” in 1980 and currently holds four American patents.
In his spare time, Dr. Ginzberg enjoys staying active. Some of his favorite activities include cross-country skiing, long-distance biking, running, swimming and hiking. In addition, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially his three children and three grandchildren. As a further testament to his success and stature, Dr. Ginzberg is featured in the fifth edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
