George H. Anderson, PhD, Global Hydro-Processing Expert, Chemical Engineer, and Independent Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Dr. Anderson attended the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering. He switched his major from chemical engineering his Sophomore year, as bioengineering was a brand new field where he felt he could make a bigger impact. In the following years, he went on to earn a master’s in engineering from his alma mater and then joined the United States Air Force, where he served until 1973. Upon returning from service, he attended Rice University and acquired a PhD in chemical engineering.
Dr. Anderson’s great depth of knowledge and passion for research has taken him quite far in his career. He has held a number of different positions, though his success has never wavered. He has spent much of his career working with Exxon Research & Engineering. He started there in 1977 as a research engineer of coal liquefaction and other Synfuels and proceeded to hold titles such as corporate technical advisor, section head of Fuels Processing R&D, and catalyst coordinator. He then relocated to Albemarle Corporation, where he was the global hydro-processing specialist from 2007 until 2017. Currently, Dr. Anderson is currently working as an independent consultant on refinery hydroprocessing process and catalyst operations, R&D Practices and Quality Assurance Principles and Practices. As a testament to his success, he is featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in the World, as well as the 26th edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and the 31st edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
