Juan R. Griego, Energy Engineer at the U.S. General Services Administration, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in energy engineering.
Affiliated with the U.S. General Services Administration since 2007, Mr. Griego first served as a building manager for seven years before being promoted to project manager in 2014. Remaining in that role for two years, he then became an energy engineer in 2016, a role he continues to hold to the present day. At the inception of his career in 2005, he was a real property management specialist until 2007.
Holding a professional certificate in energy innovation and emerging technologies from Stanford University since 2014 and an associate certificate from the Federal Program of Management since 2017, Mr. Griego is a certified energy manager through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He also holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science from New Mexico State University.
Lending his expertise to local charities, Mr. Griego frequently contributes to Meals on Wheels. He is a national member of the Ashray American Society for Heating Refrigeration, and a member of the Dallas Electric Club and Engineering Government Legion of the AEE. As a testament to his success, Mr. Griego received recognition for the reserve auction. However, he is proudest of saving money by reducing electricity costs by approximately $1.5 million annually from 2018 to 2023, which lowered the energy rate to 30% and allowed the U.S. General Services Administration to purchase 100% renewable energy.
