James Kween Baker, Senior Engineering Partner at the Nano Science and Technology Institute, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Since 1995, Mr. Baker has served as the senior engineering partner of the Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI), located in Austin, Texas, with other offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Danville, California. Described as an organization that advances and integrates advanced technology, including nanotechnology, through the education of engineering principles, NSTI also promotes business publishing, hosts seminars and produces research services. Notably, NSTI hosts the annual Nanotech Conference and Expo, which brings together more than 5,000 industrial, academic, business and government individuals across the globe.
Residing in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Baker civically contributes to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, which serves the Dallas community. Professionally, he has published a myriad of articles about cloud technology on LinkedIn and continues to develop his expertise in cloud infrastructure. Interested in the sciences from a young age, he attended Texas A&M University in Arlington, from whom he received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and computer science in 1989 and a Master of Arts in industrial engineering in 1991.
Mr. Baker attributes his success to the day-to-day consistency of his everyday work. He was initially mentored by his own father, a retired geologist, who was impressively persistent and a continual driving force in Mr. Baker’s life. Living by the motto, “Live in the moment and manage it,” he intends to remain involved in engineering and management in five years’ time, noting that he would also like to be more knowledgeable about cloud technology as well. To remain abreast of developments in an ever-changing field, Mr. Baker maintains affiliation with the National Society of Black Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is the proud father of two children.
