Christian-Andrew Wethe, Retired Commander of the Coast Guard Reserves, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
A graduate of a technical high school, Mr. Wethe became interested in engineering from his studies. Following his graduation, he enrolled at Brown University and earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering in 1964. Three years later, he had earned a Master’s in civil engineering from Tufts University. During his time there, Mr. Wethe served as a civil engineering instructor. In 1971, he became a research engineer for the University of Delaware’s College of Marine Studies. Mr. Wethe remained there until 1983, which is when he relocated to Wethe Engineering Associates as an environmental consultant. From 1985 until 2005, he upheld the title of contingency planner for the United States Coast Guard of the Atlantic Area. In 2005, he retired under the title of commander of the Coast Guard Reserves.htyurgfv`
Reflecting on his success, Mr. Wethe attributes his accomplishments to his strength in listening to others, which enables him to implement their ideas and facilitate cooperation from those with whom he worked. He maintains affiliation with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Reserve Officers Association, for which he is a life member. In his free time, Mr. Wethe is active at his local church and senior center. Moreover, he enjoys hiking and model railroading. As a testament to his success, he is featured in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the East.
