William Delano McLane, Construction Manager at Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for his dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Prior to embarking on his career in engineering, Mr. McLane originally planned to pursue a career in agricultural engineering, but ultimately received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University in 1961. He later became a registered professional engineer through the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. With nearly six decades of professional experience to his credit, Mr. McLane most recently retired from his role as the resident construction manager of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority in 2017.
Earlier in his career, Mr. McLane worked for various prominent organizations, including the Dallas County Community College District as a construction manager and STV, Inc. as the resident construction manager of the build-out of the DART Greenline. In addition, he worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff Construction Services, Inc. as a senior project manager of its airport services improvement program and for the Parsons’ Fort Worth Transportation Authority commuter rail project as a construction manager.
Upon his civic duties, Mr. McLane has maintained involvement on the advisory boards of several organizations, including the Guaranty Federal Bank and the Citizens National Bank in Waxahachie, Texas, as well as the City of Waxahachie Citizens Advisory Board. He also served in the same capacity for Texas State Technical College and for Navarro College. In the coming years, Mr. McLane would like to focus his efforts on his ranch. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting coyotes and has an affinity for bobcats, rattlesnakes and other field animals.
