Steven C. Whiteside, Senior Network Engineer at Technica Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in network engineering and military service.

At the inception of his career, Mr. Whiteside enlisted in the United States Army. Upon completing his placement examinations, he was allowed to enter the Signal Corps, whereupon he worked as a microwave technician operator for several years. Retiring from the military 22 years later as a first sergeant, he continued his work in technology and engineering with Cable and Wireless Inc. Beginning as a network controller in 1994, Mr. Whiteside flourished as a network analyst and a network security administrator until departing from the aforementioned company in 1997.

For the following year, Mr. Whiteside served SRA International Inc. as an associate member, as well as TEK Systems Inc. as a senior NOC analyst. From 1998 to 1999, he excelled as a data network engineer for Butler International Inc. He later found success as a senior network engineer and manager of TIER III for Qwest Communications from 1999 to 2004. In the years that followed, he was active as a senior network engineer for WFI Government System and a CERT networking engineer for the National Cyber Security Division. Since 2007, Mr. Whiteside has thrived as a senior network engineer for Technica Corp.

Certified in network infrastructure, wireless LAN and advanced security, Mr. Whiteside also accrued certifications through the Juniper Networks Certified Internet Association (JNCIA-SSL). Likewise, he holds an Associate of Arts in electronics from Cecil Community College. A volunteer with the Wounded Warrior Project, Mr. Whiteside has also provided his considerable expertise to the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, for which he served as senior vice commander of Post 573 from 2009 to 2013.

As a testament to his military accomplishments, Mr. Whiteside was presented with a Silver Star, a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He attributes his immense success to his diligent work ethic and dedication to his field. Although his career has been abound with highlights, he is especially proud of marrying his wife, with whom he has raised two wonderful children. Looking toward the future, Mr. Whiteside intends to ease into a well-deserved retirement and dedicate more time to his family.
