Backed by a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University from 1973, Mr. Pearson is a registered professional engineer by the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alabama, California, South Carolina and Texas. Since 2016, he has served as the senior structural engineer for Aspen Technical Staffing in Eugene, Oregon. Earlier, between 2002 and 2016, he was an engineering permit technician for the City of Eugene, senior plans examiner for Lane County and plans revision engineer for the City of Springfield. Since commencing his career in 1973, Mr. Pearson has offered his expertise to numerous employers, including Chicago Bridge and Iron Co., Wyatt Industries, GH Progressive Metals and Security Concepts Inc. all located in Houston, Texas. In Oregon, he also served Evergreen Engineering Inc., Appel Engineering Services, Bergeson-Boese & Associates Inc. and Branch Engineering.
Mr. Pearson aspired to become an engineer in order to serve everyday people. Looking back, he most enjoyed building a water tank in the shape of a peach in Daphne, South Carolina, which served as a happy landmark for its inhabitants. Presently, Mr. Pearson maintains affiliation with Mensa International, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Professional Engineers of Oregon, of which he served on the board of directors from 1991 to 1994. Civically, he was the Republican candidate for the Oregon House of Representatives in 1998. In his spare time, he enjoys ballroom dancing, mentoring and marriage coaching. To attest to his legacy, Mr. Pearson can also be found in the 35th and 36th editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, the 28th edition of Who’s Who In Finance and Industry, the 57th and 58th editions of Who’s Who in America and the second and eighth editions of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
