For as long as Dr. Franck can remember, he has been interested in electronics and engineering. In school, he discovered a knack for physics, mathematics and chemistry. This further inspired him to pursue a career in electrical engineering. Following his graduation from high school, he enrolled at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where he earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 1984. Dr. Franck remained at the university for another four years, achieving a Master of Electrical Engineering in 1988. By 1993, he had furthered his education once more by acquiring a Doctor of Philosophy from Technische Universität München.
In 1988, Dr. Franck commenced his career as a research assistant at the Institute for Electrical Drives in Germany. As he gained more experience, he progressed in his field, taking on roles at Osram Edison Clerici, S.P.A., the Rosenheim Group and Technology University. Since 2010, Dr. Franck has demonstrated consistent success as an electronics design engineer and patent strategy officer in lighting electronics at OSRAM GmbH. A well-respected individual in his field, he holds five patents. Likewise, Dr. Franck has 27 patents pending, and, as of October 2020, he completed 51 patent applications.
A member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Dr. Franck considers the most rewarding part of his career to be finding solutions for electronic hardware, which is his specialty. Looking toward the future, he hopes to continue making remarkable improvements in his field, as well as continuing on his journey to acquire patents. When Dr. Franck is not working, he performs as a bassoonist with several orchestras in Munich, Germany. He additionally loves to spend time with his wife, Anna, and their three children.
