Isamu Ohta, PhD, Energy Engineer and Environmental Engineer at Misawa Homes Institute of Research and Development Co. Ltd., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in energy and environmental engineering.

Dr. Ohta started on his career path by first earning a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Aoyama-Gakuin University in 1992. He then went on to receive a Doctor of Philosophy from Hokkaido University in 2008. After receiving his degrees, he joined Misawa Homes Institute of Research and development in 1995 and remains with the company to this day. He began as a researcher and is now the general manager and director. To attest to his legacy, Dr. Ohta has been listed in numerous editions of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Asia and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.

Finding great success throughout his career, Dr. Ohta received a Best Paper Award from Japan Solar Energy Association in 2008, a Good Design Award for the Cool Wind Controller from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion in 2007 and a Good Design Award for the Drip Louver from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion in 2013. Additionally, he took home a Good Design Award for the Sustainable Living Architecture from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion in 2019 and received a grant from Aoyama-Gakuin University in 1990. He has been inducted as a member of the Japan Solar Energy Society and the Japan Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Testing Laboratory, where he has also been a director since 2010 and 2018, respectively, as well as a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan, Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan.
