Joseph W. Guida, Process and Environmental Engineering Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in environmental and chemical engineering.
Mr. Guida stumbled into engineering, first starting in electrical engineering, then moving to chemistry engineering, before settling on chemical engineering. It turned out to be a great career for him. He became involved in the environmental side of things during college. He worked with environments protection in Florida and stuck with it throughout his career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of South Florida in 1977. He then received a Master of Science in environmental engineering from the University of South Florida in 1992. Upon completion of his degrees, he received a professional engineer license from the states of Texas, Florida and Louisiana.
Mr. Guida is proud of the work he does giving back to his alma mater. He teaches seniors how to design chemical plants safely with a couple of other associates at the university. He began his career in 1977 as a process engineer with Rohm & Haas Co., where he remained for a year. He then became a senior process engineer and a production engineer with Cargill Fertilizer from 1978 to 1987. The following year he was a plant engineer with Gulf Coast Lead. In 1989, he became a process-engineering supervisor and environmental engineering manager at Badger Engineers, where he remained until 1999. From there, he took the position of senior process engineering supervisor at Mustang Engineers from 1999 to 2009. He became a process-engineering manager and manager of engineering at Thompson Global Partners, LLC from 2009 to 2001. He then joined Fluor in 2011, where he remained until 2020. While there, he was a process environmental engineering manager and director of water technology. Since 2020, he has been a process and environmental engineering consultant. As a testament to his success, Mr. Guida was named a technical fellow by Fluor in 2017.
