Jessica Hodge, Flight Test Engineer at L3Harris Advanced Systems & Technologies, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in general flight testing.
For as long as Ms. Hodge can remember, she wanted to become a pilot. It became clear that getting a pilot job would be a difficult task, so she steered her career towards aeronautics. She earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2015. She chose Embry-Riddle because they had one of the largest Air Force ROTC programs outside of the Air Force Academy. She attributes her success to her passion for the field of aeronautics.
Ms. Hodge is proud of being a technical expert in her field. She is also proud of being the youngest flight test engineer to fly for the first time in under a year of training. She began her career in 2013 as a helicopter crewmember with the Bureau of Land Management, where she remained for a year. She then became a front desk assistant with the Department of Housing and Residence Life at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2013 to 2015. Also during that time, she was a design team leader at Embry-Riddle from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, she became a flight test engineer at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), where she remained until 2017. Since 2018, she has been a flight test engineer at L3Harris Advanced Systems & Technologies. As a testament to her success, Ms. Hodge was inducted into the American Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Society of Flight Test Engineers, Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, and the Vertical Flight Society.
