Frederick L. Haynes, Principal at Haynes & Haynes LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership as a professional engineer.
With nearly 60 years of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Haynes has served as the principal at Haynes & Haynes LLC for over two decades, since 1999. Prior to this position, he worked as a senior requirements officer for the Community Open Source Program Office from 1995 to 1999, and as a business development manager for the National Technical Information Service in Washington, D.C. from 1992 to 1995. Mr. Haynes worked in the same organization for more than a decade prior, acting as an associate director of marketing and customer services from 1985 to 1992 and an associate director of product and market development from 1981 to 1985.
Mr. Haynes garnered additional experience with the United States Department of Commerce as the director of the Office of Cooperative Generic Technology for two years, and from 1972 to 1979 he worked with the United States General Accounting Office as the assistant director. Beginning his professional experience as an industrial engineer with Alcoa in Edgewater, New Jersey, in 1962, he transitioned to a position as a senior industrial engineer with the United States Air Force Management Engineering Program in the Pentagon.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Haynes studied at Northeastern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1960 and a Master of Business Administration in resource and development management at American University in 1968. He is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, a fellow of the IIE and holds a United States Coast Guard License as a Marine Officer. From 1955 to 1957, Mr. Haynes served with the United States Navy and additionally served as a First Lieutenant with the United States Army Corps of Engineers until 1962, for which he was decorated with an Army Commendation Medal. In addition to his primary roles, he has contributed numerous technical articles to domestic and foreign professional journals.
Mr. Haynes maintains affiliation with numerous organizations in relation to his areas of expertise, including the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the World Future Society, and the Order of the Engineer. He is also the founder of the Castle Harbor Yacht Club in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia. Featured in the 25th and 26th editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Mr. Haynes has also been selected for inclusion in the ninth through 12th editions of Who’s Who in the World and is a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. In his free time, he enjoys flying, boating, and deep-sea fishing.
