John Anderson, a Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
After graduating from Foley High School in Foley, Alabama, in 1961, Mr. Anderson attended Auburn University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1964, and concluded his academic efforts at Purdue University, where he received a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 1969. In addition, he is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Alabama, a designation he has held since 1977. From 2004 to 2019, Mr. Anderson contributed his expertise as a project manager and mechanical engineer with Hargrove & Associates Inc., having previously worked as a project manager with BE&K Engineering between 2000 and 2003. In addition to his primary endeavors, he is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Tau Beta Pi, Omicron Delta Kappa and Pi Tau Sigma.
From 1984 to 1999, Mr. Anderson worked for S. D. Warren Co., serving in numerous roles, including as the chief engineer, environmental manager, coated business system leader, coated business team leader, engineering and maintenance manager, and engineering manager. Following the conclusion of his academic efforts, he started his career as an engineering specialist with the AiResearch Manufacturing Company, and subsequently garnered experience as a product and process engineering manager with Ampex Corporation and as a chief project engineer and systems department manager with the Scott Paper Company. Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Anderson is most proud of his work on the TFE731 engine. Married to Marianne C. Hertel since 1965, he is the loving father of three successful children, through whom he has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In his spare time, Mr. Anderson enjoys gardening, woodworking, reading, making pottery and teaching engineering skills to others.
