From 1972 to 1992, Dr. Lagvankar excelled as vice president of Harza Engineering, now MWH Global, a water and natural resources firm providing technical engineering, construction services, and consulting services including planning, design, and construction management for water and natural resources projects around the world. He specialized in managing groups in diverse projects in planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater management.
Dr. Lagvankar was born in Maharashtra, India, and obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental engineering in Vadodara before immigrating to the United States in 1963 and continuing his education with a Doctor of Philosophy in the same discipline from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, in 1967.
Dr. Lagvankar considers his most notable achievement overseeing a complex plan for wastewater management for the country of Jordan. He attributes his success to his overall educational background.
