Wayne Burton Roelle, PE, Senior Electrical Engineer (Retired) at Olsson, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Enginers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in electrical engineering.
For nearly 40 years, Mr. Roelle excelled as a senior electrical engineer for Olsson until commencing his retirement in 2012. Over the course of his career, he worked strictly on power electrical matters as a designer of transmission lines and distribution systems. He also conducted rate studies and testimonies as an expert witness in trials. In addition, he conducted work in local power plants, installing new generation and contributed to the design of transmission lines of up to 115,000 volts. As an expert witness, he appeared in about 20 trials around the country and served as the chairman of the National Electric Safety Code. Earlier in his career, Mr. Roelle worked for the Nebraska Public Power District from 1957 to 1975.
Matriculating at the University of Nebraska, Mr. Roelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1955 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1968. Between these two accomplishments, he served in the U.S. Army for two years as a commissioned second lieutenant in 1955 followed by two years of active duty, primarily as a platoon leader in the first infantry division. Later in his life, Mr. Roelle wrote his autobiography “My Blessed Life; Cluster County to Eastmont Towers,” as well as “The Roelle Family”’ about his father’s side and “The Samuel Family” about his mother’s side. None of the books have been published for sale, as they are mainly for family members. He attributes all of the success of his professional endeavors to his parents. A member of his local Rotary Club #10, Mr. Roelle looks forward to continuing to enjoy his well-deserved retirement, which includes his hobbies of woodworking and genealogy research.
