Ali Salim Shirazi, PhD, PE, Director of Engineering at ATIGROUP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Dr. Shirazi is the director of engineering and a senior mechanical engineer for ATIGROUP, a position he has held since 2019. Previously, he has been a mechanical engineer for E3 Building Sciences, a senior mechanical engineer, an HVAC engineer and a research assistant. He is a certified professional engineer through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. He holds numerous professional certifications and qualifications, including membership with the Professional Engineers – State of Michigan, the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the NSERC Smart Net-Zero Energy Buildings Strategic Network and the U.S. Green Building Council. He is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering through Khajeh Nasir al-Din Toosi University of Technology in Tehran, Iran in 1997, Dr. Shirazi went on to graduate with a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the school in 2003. He attended Polytechnique Montréal in Canada for his doctorate in mechanical engineering from 2005 to 2012 after receiving a Canadian Postgraduate Award scholarship in 2005.
Dr. Shirazi attributes his success to perseverance and consistency, to always trying. He was always passion about physics and mathematics, which made engineering a natural fit. He has published numerous papers and technical information about such engineering subjects as transient heat transfer, solar heat injection, geothermal boreholes and more energy solutions. In the next five years, he hopes to train and mentor students to help young engineers hone their craft.
