Ms. Konwinski recently began her professional career in the field of mechanical engineering. Since 2020, she has served as a production engineer at Barron Industries in Oxford, Michigan. Specializing in patternmaking, MIG welding, gating design, investment casting and manual milling, Mr. Konwinski is largely responsible for coordinating product process routings, handling products throughout the creation process, conducting material reviews and discussing the product creation process with customers to determine how best to meet customer requirements.

Ms. Konwinski began her career operating as a research assistant at Saginaw Valley State University, her alma mater, between 2018 and 2019. During her time in this role, she regularly machined and tested ferrous specimens with fellow team members and studied how to implement improved workplace processes and practices. Prior to beginning her career, she earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in mechanical engineering at the university in 2019. Ms. Konwinski also leverages a great deal of sales experience, having previously worked as a cashier at Frank’s Great Outdoors from 2014 to 2018.

As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Konwinski a member of the university’s chapter of the American Foundry Society. During her time with the organization, she served as a secretary between 2017 and 2018 and as the vice president in 2019. Outside of her primary vocational endeavors, Ms. Konwinski is also well regarded as a civic-minded citizen. To wit, she regularly volunteers with the Women of the Aerospace Industry Association of Michigan.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Konwinski has attributed much of her success to her sheer determination and open-mindedness. Having always held a sincere interest in science, and boasting strong skills in mathematics, she naturally gravitated towards a career as an engineer. Joining the American Foundry Society and working alongside her friends and colleagues served as the catalyst which properly launched her into the field. In the coming years, Ms. Konwinski hopes to be working in a new position, particularly dealing with polymers, and to continue climbing the ladder within her profession.
