Linda M.S. Thomas, Retired Technical Fellow with The Boeing Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in aerospace engineering.
From 2018 until her retirement in 2020, Ms. Thomas served The Boeing Company as a technical fellow in the Boeing Defense, Space & Security division. Her career at Boeing included system safety engineering, materials engineering, and environmental engineering. From 2009 to 2016, she worked as a part-time instructor at South Seattle College.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Thomas attended Howard University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1981. In 2005, she earned a Master of Science in systems engineering and architecture from the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering. For her professional accomplishments, she has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades. She received Industry Engineer of the Year Award from the Puget Sound Engineering Council in 2012, a Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Women Engineers in 2018 and a Celestial Torch Award for Outstanding Woman in Aerospace from the National Society of Black Engineers in 2016. In 2014, Ms. Thomas was named a Modern-Day Technology Leader and Black Engineer of the Year, and in 2013, she was named a fellow of the Society of Women Engineers. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, photography, gardening, bird watching, and playing clarinet.
