Robert Stewart, retired senior industrial engineer from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in industrial engineering.

With several decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Stewart is a proven expert in the field of industrial engineering. Now retired, he previously operated as a senior industrial engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 18 years, during which time he specialized in mapmaking and planning for various statewide engineering projects. He held a similar role with Northern Telecom for 12 years, in addition to working with AT&T Inc. for an additional two years. Over the course of his career, Mr. Stewart oversaw various construction and project management operations, during which time he assisted in relocating over 2,200 individuals and refining over 5,500 square feet of property for a power plant.

Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Stewart pursued a formal education at Auburn University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1971. In his retirement, he continues to serve his community as a civic-minded citizen, regularly volunteering was various community support groups and sports teams. Attributing much of his success to his upbringing and dedicated work ethic, Mr. Stewart is notably proud to have been a member of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (formerly the American Institute of Industrial Engineers).
