Taher Farkhondeh, a distinguished engineer who recently retired from Verizon, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in electrical and electronics engineering.
With more than four decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Farkhondeh has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of engineering. Specializing in telecommunications and both electrical and electronics engineering, he served as a distinguished engineer for Verizon from 2003 until his retirement in 2023. As an expert in his field, he boasts a wealth of expertise in leading and managing department teams, with a focus on results-oriented work. In his current role, Mr. Farkhondeh remains actively involved with research and development of new technologies.
Prior to his final appointment with Verizon, Mr. Farkhondeh was the vice president of wireless networks at Peak XV Networks between 2002 and 2003. He also operated as the vice president of sales and operations for Convergelabs Inc. from 2001 to 2002 and as the chief operating officer of Fiberstreet Inc. between 2000 and 2001. At the onset of his career in 1993, he worked with Pacific Bell Mobile Services (now AT&T Inc.) as an RF manager until 1994. Mr. Farkhondeh would subsequently continue working with Pacific Bell until 1998, holding other engineering management positions within the company during that time, including vice president of network technology.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Farkhondeh has also acquired several United States patents for new technologies in his field. To wit, he holds patents for real-time traffic management for machine-to-machine communications, a time-weighted queuing scheduler for machine-to-machine communications, and for wireless data communication access activation. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Farkhondeh also pursued a formal education, ultimately achieving a Master of Science in communications engineering at George Washington University in 1998.
Well-regarded for his professional accomplishments, Mr. Farkhondeh was honored with a British Telecom Award for Quality in 1999. Furthermore, he received an award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his deployment of new personal communications services networks in California. Outside of his primary professional endeavors, he remains active as a civic-minded citizen, regularly participating in charitable causes aimed at assisting those who are living without basic necessities. Mr. Farkhondeh largely attributes his success to his dedication to continually improving himself, and he is notably proud to have accomplished many of his goals in the field, thanks largely in part to the efforts and support of his teams.
