With 55 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Iness has excelled as a drilling consultant for VCG Energy since 2018. Prior to this appointment, he was active as a drilling consultant for Acock Engineering & Associates from 1995 to 2018, a consultant with Eagle Drilling International from 1994 to 1995, a toolpusher for Bearden Drilling Corporation from 1993 to 1994, a drilling superintendent for Sandia Energy Corporation from 1989 to 1993, and a pumper and gauger for Sandia Energy Corporation in 1989. He previously worked as a drilling consultant for England Consultants from 1982 to 1989, a toolpusher for the American Drilling & Exploration Co. from 1980 to 1982, a toolpusher for Eagle Drilling and Production Co. from 1978 to 1980 and a driller with Energeticos S.A. from 1977 to 1978. Mr. Iness began his career as a roughneck, derrick hand and driller for various contractors between 1971 and 1977.
From 1968 to 1971, Mr. Iness served in the U.S. Army, completing three years of active duty service in the Airborne Infanty, including during the Vietnam War between 1970 and 1971. To support his professional ambitions, he earned a degree in petroleum engineering at Odessa College in 1974. He additionally obtained safety certifications in Conoco, certifications from PETCO and DRILCO, first aid and CPR certifications from the American Red Cross, H2S safety certifications from ESSE International, and BOP Certification from the University of Oklahoma. Looking toward the future, Mr. Iness hopes to remain in good health while continuing to serve the Lord.
