Drawing on more than 13 years of experience, Mr. Vadivel is a rising expert in the engineering industry. Specializing in electrical and electronics engineering, he has served as a Staff hardware engineer at Tesla in Palo Alto, California, since 2019. He originally joined the multinational automotive manufacturer in 2019 as a senior design verification engineer. As part of his duties within the business, Mr. Vadivel validates and verifies the ASIC/FPGA chips that drive Tesla AI systems. He also works with various cross-functional teams specialized in Mechanical, Thermal, Supply Chain, Program Management, Software, Firmware, System and Production.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Vadivel worked with Qualcomm Technologies Inc. for several years, originally joining the technology development enterprise in 2016 as a Senior Verification Engineer verifying ASIC/FPGA chips that drive 5G wireless designs and Snapdragon CPU subsystems. Furthermore, he excelled in similar engineering roles at Cadence Design Systems Inc. from 2012 to 2014 supporting the verification, validation, and production of Palladium Z1 and other EDA assets. At the onset of his career, Mr. Vadivel operated as a hardware intern at Red Phone Security between 2010 and 2011. Ever committed to his profession, he also remains affiliated with the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the International Association for Engineers.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Vadivel pursued a formal education, beginning at the SSN College of Engineering, Kalavakkam where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering in 2009. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Minnesota and achieved a master’s degree in electrical engineering in 2011. During his time at the latter institution, he also worked as a research assistant at Arctic Labs under prof David Lilja, between 2009 and 2010, which further helped him kick-start his career in the field.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Vadivel was recently honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Globee Awards for serving as the judge in Cybersecurity awards, America’s Best in Business and Disruptor Award categories. In light of his fulfilling career, he has largely attributed his success to the support of his colleagues, as well as his ability to overcome new challenges. Accounting for his accomplishments, he is particularly proud to have been involved in numerous noteworthy projects throughout his time in the field, including the development of 5G wireless technology, Palladium Z1 Emulator and Tesla AI/Autopilot. In the coming years, Mr. Vadivel hopes to continue leading teams working on groundbreaking projects.
