Recognized for extensive contributions to her chosen field, Aashmeet Kaur Kalra has earned distinction at Amazon Web Services since 2018. Leveraging a wealth of expertise in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, application architecture, software design, and natural language processing, she bears responsibility for delivering customer solutions, organizing global summits regarding software engineering, and fostering organizational improvement in her latest position as principal solutions architect. Proud to have transitioned from low-level programming roles to her current capacity as a C-level executive, Ms. Kalra previously distinguished herself at Uber, McDonald’s, MuleSoft, IBM New Zealand, Datacom and Infosys Technologies Limited, among many others.
Ms. Kalra initially sought a career in engineering due to her early competence in mathematics, which she was naturally able to parley toward computer science and the real-world challenges of coding and engineering. After earning a Bachelor of Technology from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, she went on to attend the University of Auckland, from which she received a master’s degree in computer science in 2010. Throughout the course of her subsequent career, she is most proud to have worked with strategic customers at Amazon Web Services to help them deliver outstanding results with the latest technology. Additionally, she is gratified to have been bestowed with the Rookie of the Year Award. In accounting for her success, Ms. Kalra largely credits the personal motivation she feels in having been the first woman in her family to study in a foreign country. Likewise, she drew extensively from the inspiration of her father, who helped pave the way for her to achieve her dreams.
