Joshua P. Nichols, PMP, CAP, a project manager at the Dennis Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of engineering.

With more than two decades of experience to his credit in his chosen field, Mr. Nichols has distinguished himself as a senior engineering project manager at the Dennis Group, a premier designer of food and beverage plants. Bearing a particular specialization in controls and automation, his responsibilities range from facility management to overseeing the efforts of team members working under his supervision, including architects and engineers of various disciplines. First joining the Dennis Group in 2013, Mr. Nichols previously availed himself in similar roles at Polytron Inc. between 2010 and 2013, the Shaw Group from 2009 to 2010, and Factory Automation Systems from 2007 until 2009. 

Having always found great joy in shepherding projects from their initial planning stages to their final completion, Mr. Nichols largely attributes his success to the pride he takes in his profession, as well as his ability to pioneer new engineering innovations. Never content to settle for mediocrity, he strives diligently to deliver high-quality products on behalf of his clients and adapt seamlessly to new challenges as they emerge. Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Nichols is particularly proud to have overseen several food plants that achieved remarkable success in the industry, including one in Alexandria, Minnesota, that was recognized for its best-in-class products. 

As a child, Mr. Nichols could often be found taking tools apart and examining their inner workings. Carrying his fascination with engineering forward to college, he studied at Auburn University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2005. Since embarking upon his professional journey, he has remained abreast of changes in the field through his membership with such organizations as the Project Management Institute and the International Society of Automation, both of which have issued him professional certifications. 

Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Nichols enjoys such pastimes as competitive barbecuing along with his wife, as well as athletic pursuits, like soccer and track running with his children. He also served on the Auburn Water Ski Team while studying in college. Looking toward the future, Mr. Nichols hopes to earn further distinction in the field of engineering, and to continue delivering project results on-time and on-budget.
