With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Melendez Rodriguez has excelled as a principal validation engineer at NXP Semiconductors since 2021. Previously, he was a staff product validation engineer at Renesas Electronics Corporation and Integrated Device Technology Inc. from 2009 to 2021. From 2005 to 2009, he held the position of test engineer with Texas Instruments Incorporated. He has also shared his expertise as a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University.
Before starting his professional career, Dr. Melendez Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of Science in electronic and communications engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute in 1994. He then attended the National Institute of Astrophysics Optics and Electronics, receiving a Master of Science in electrical and electronics engineering in 1997 and a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical and electronics engineering in 2001. From there, he became certified in RF Field Testing Basics 101 by Keysight Technologies in 2021.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Melendez Rodriguez was a part of the team that launched Apple’s first production of an MP3 audio controller. He is currently part of a team that manufactures sensors used in airbags, electronics, and steering wheels, among others used in cars. He is also involved in creating the next generation of Tire Pressure Motion Systems for the automotive market. Dr. Melendez Rodriguez attributes his success to his hard work and dedication.
In the future, Dr. Melendez Rodriguez would like to develop new technology and work on new innovative projects. He wants to continue as the technical lead in his current role with NXP Semiconductors. He enjoys being challenged, and that is why he excels in his position.
